Think Again Personal Protection is a Wisconsin based company that manufactures products to help people defend themselves against criminals and attacks. The company recently launched a crowdfunding campaign on kickstarter to raise funds for the production of the first of its kind woman’s daily wearable self-defense gloves. The campaign has a goal of raising $20,000 to help bring the product to life and protect women across the globe against violent attacks.
It is no news that women are the commonest victims of attacks across the globe. With the world becoming even more violent, it has become imperative for women and other such victims to prevent themselves against such attacks. While advocacy against violence to women and other vulnerable persons have continued, this seems to have little or no effect on the societal phenomenon. This claim is substantiated by the increasing number of violent attack against women. Therefore, Think Again Personal Protection has taken the bull by the horns by creating an innovative way of ensuring women stay protected everywhere and anywhere, with the introduction of its daily wearable self-defense gloves.
The creation of the self-defense gloves for women was inspired after one of the co-founders of Think Again Gloves, Sara, was victim of a brutal assault. Sara was able to escape from the attackers using her steel toe boots to kick, strike, and scream enough to scare off the attackers. Sara and her team thought of the hundreds to thousands of women suffering the same fate and consequently decided to mix fashion with functionality by creating the gloves.
The design of the gloves provides function and dexterity, with re-enforced fingers and knuckles that act like a military tactical glove. This substantially increases the force available to wearers of the glove at any time. The practical tactical glove also has smartphone use capability.
The glove is also designed, using brightly colored high contrast displayto prevent an attack from happening. The glove uses the natural warning system to scare off predators and consequently prevent a violent crime from happening.
The product is simply to use, requiring no education or training. Unlike other protective tools, using the gloves does not require any special equipment, needing only a hand and the willingness to defend oneself.
Think Again Personal Protection is also looking to collaborate with local charities and organize to increase violence awareness and self-defense techniques. The company also hopes to make the gloves available to women across the globe through martial arts instructors, women organization and smaller town stores.
