Stronger Than My Struggles To Launch A Mental Health App For Minority Communities

Innovative mental health resource, Stronger Than My Struggles, announce the launch of a mental health app created for African Americans and other minority communities

Baltimore, MD – Melony Hill and her team at Stronger Than My Struggles have announced the launch of their new mobile app, which will be officially released on March 15th. The move is in line with the movement’s goal of helping the millions of people, especially those in minority communities, suffering from any form of mental illness by bringing them closer to simple yet effective solutions.

After being diagnosed with an associative personality disorder and wanting to locate support someone who could help understand what I was dealing with I discovered there wasn’t anyone and decided the diagnosis wasn’t against me but my call to be the vehicle of change on teaching people to live the life they desire and deserve beyond the diagnosis,” said Melony Hill Founder and Creator of Stronger Than My Struggles.

Mental illness remains a major cause of concern across the globe. Over the years, there has been a disturbing increase in the number of people suffering from one form of mental illness or the other. The case is even more worrisome in minority communities. According to a recent report, African American adults are 20% more likely to report serious psychological distress than white adults. Consequently, it has become imperative to develop more solutions targeted at these seemingly underserved communities, which is where Melony Hill is looking to make a difference with the launch of Stronger Than My Struggles and the eventual release of the mobile app.

Stronger Than My Struggles serves as a therapeutic writing workshop that has a built-in online community on Facebook with meetings via zoom to create a safe space and a judgment-free zone for members. The launch of the app will help in providing more awareness and resources for the community, helping members to fight the invisible illness that has been seen as a taboo topic among African Americans and other minority counterparts.

The app will be officially released on Google Play and the App Store for users of iOS and Android devices on March 15th, 2021.
