Princess Rani Vanouska T. Modely stands against discrimination after Euro cup final, and calls upon all the football federations to secure football’s status as World Heritage.
Princess Rani Vanouska T. Modely congratulates UEFA for Euro 2020 success and expands on her plans for football to be recognized as UNESCO Cultural Heritage.

With the exhilaration of the European Cup taking place across numerous capital cities this summer, football once again took center stage as one of the most popular sports in the world. Princess Rani Vanouska T. Modely was present at the final in Wembley to see first hand the potential impact of football globally particularly in such challenging times. She was proud to promote the universal values of the game at the final alongside Prince William, Kate Middleton, Boris Johnson, David Beckham, Tom Cruise, and the FIFA President.

Princess Rani Vanouska Modely’s appearance at Wembley was met with cheers from all over the stands. Her eagerness to use football as a way to unify the world via the ‘Football World Heritage’ project continues to receive support and respect from many quarters.

As the world slowly emerges from a difficult time due to this devastating pandemic, engaging with our cultural heritage remains crucial for humanity. Football could lead the way to hope and unity. The engagement of all football institutions in this world heritage candidacy helps us to be more connected, more resilient, better placed to protect the legacy of the past and hand it down to future generations for all the football lovers around the globe. The Universality of Football, which we celebrate on this Euro final day, is essential in this respect – not only for the billions of fans, but for all of humankind.”

Billions of people around the world tuned in to watch the competition. For Princess Rani Vanouska T. Modely, football is a universal symbol that belongs to all the football lovers and has already convinced many states members to add football on UNESCO’s World Cultural Intangible Heritage. As an active peace activist, the Princess is clear that the sport can bring people together by forming a common connection to overshadow differences. It was therefore distressing to see racists wrapped in English colours actively spurning the values their team represents. More needs to be done to combat these elements and the Princess believes her project will play a vital role in combatting prejudice and discrimination.

Under her stewardship, the ‘Football World Heritage’ project seeks to leverage football’s extensive reach to unify the world and eradicate toxicity between races and ethnicities. It brings together children from across the world and helps them pursue their dreams – in and out of football. She remains entirely committed to this cause.

Through the not for profit ‘Football World Heritage’ organization, Princess Rani Vanouska T. Modely is working with Heads of State, leading world institutions, football federations, and personalities from all over the world to tackle racism and prejudice. In her own words she said, “It is obvious that discrimination is still very much alive in the world today. And this shall have no place in football. We desperately want to make progress on this front and eradicate racism effectively through football at its best”.

She added, “It is obvious to me that football brings the world together. Even with competition, it puts everybody  in unison, and even when people are on opposite sides, you cannot but notice a massive respect between all parties involved and it is just beautiful and emotional. In these moments, billions all watching the same players, the world experiences a tremendous unity. We just need to find a way for people to realize that these attitudes are what the world needs. We hope to achieve it by bringing together all the football World leaders and Football World Heritage.”

So far, Princess Rani Vanouska Modely’s efforts have gained support from officials and presidents of football associations in many countries. One of such individuals is Arsenal FC’s former coach, Arsène Wenger, who has been a member of the honorary committee since its inception. Furthermore, the ‘Football World heritage’ initiative has received the backing of FIFA, UEFA, FFF, the Pan-African Parliament, the International Organization of Francophony, the Mayor of Paris, several UNESCO delegations and football luminaries including Cristiano Ronaldo and Antoine Griezmann, to name but a few.

The world will be watching as Princess Rani Vanouska T. Modely continues to march on with her quest to unify the world by using her magic and the power of football.
