Houston, TX – 28 Jun, 2017 – MRE Consulting, Ltd., has recruited a new team of interns as part of its thriving professional development program, known as the MRE Young Professionals (YP) group. Since the inception of the program six years ago, MRE has sponsored twelve interns.
Created for students and employees with less than five years of experience in the consulting industry, YP provides some of the brightest young stars in the consulting industry with real-life opportunities to learn, network and contribute to MRE’s customers and the industry as a whole.
For its 2017 Internship Class, MRE has selected five new undergrads — Cameron White, Daniel Sequeira, Emily Short, Jamie Taylor, and John Musolf — all of whom attend well-regarded schools across the country including Texas A&M University, University of Virginia, University of Texas at Dallas, and the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. The five students concentrate theirstudies in a variety of fields, including finance, computer science, mathematics, and petroleum engineering.

In addition to the extensive scope of work it provides to its interns, MRE coordinates events that foster personal and professional growth. Organized lunch and learns, volunteer activities and industry networking events all support MRE’s “people philosophy” — the foundation for collaboration among employees and with clients.
“The employees at MRE are my most valuable resource,” said intern Jamie Taylor, “I can tap into their knowledge and experiences because they have so much to share.”
MRE also offers its Career Advising Program (CAP) to employees of any age or experience level throughout their time with the firm.
“New minds and new ideas are the lifeblood of any industry,” said MRE Vice President Shane Merz “These young professionals will not be making coffee or going on lunch runs. They’ll be making a difference.”
