I AM WOMAN PROVERBS 31 MINISTRY (IAWPROV31) has recently announced that the 2nd ANNUAL WOMEN 2 WOMEN 26TH DAY OF GIVING: Breaking the Silence Against Domestic Violence will be held on Friday, January 26th 2018 at the 1377 6th street NW Winter Haven FL 3880 at 6:00 pm. Like the previous year, the annual charity event that happens in lieu of the I AM WOMAN PROVERBS 31 MINISTRY founder’s birthday will give back to those in need by engaging as many organizations to assist in providing services and/or sponsorship to an organization of IAWPROV31’s choice. This year the beneficiary of choice is The Women’s Resource Center Florida, an organization that provides a variety of services to women and their families in crisis and helps women to gain self- sufficiency.
As a part of the W2W-26 Days charity event, the members of IAWPROV31 will be volunteering their time this year to the Women Resources Center Florida. The Women’s Resource Center mission is to provide a variety of services for women and their families in crisis. They provide each client with valuable assistance that will enhance their current situation through immediate services, while empowering each woman and family to become productive members within their community. Women’s Resource Center of Florida is here to help women and their families during times of crisis and transition. We offer programs that can help our clients rewrite their stories and start living a life that makes them proud and independent.
IAWPROV31 hopes to bring awareness about domestic abuse and its impact on women and families through the annual charity event. In the US domestic abuse is reported as the leading cause of injury to women between the ages of 15 and 44 which is alarming. It is also unfortunate that there are only 1,500 shelters for battered women seeking refuge as compared to 3,800 animal shelters (Schneider, 1990). Sadly, battering occurs among people of all races, ages, socio-economic classes, religious affiliations, occupations, and education.
IAWPROV31 has arranged a list of events bringing awareness of Domestic Violence to our community including hosting a Vision Board Workshop at the Women’s Resource Center, Fasting and Prayer, Neighbors and Keepers Community Awareness Monthly Meetings: Bringing awareness to the community about Domestic Violence and most importantly the Fundraiser Reception – 2nd Annual WOMEN 2 WOMEN 26TH DAY OF GIVING: Breaking the Silence Against Domestic Violence.
IAWPROV31 has announced the sponsorship packages for individuals and organizations that wish to show their support to the cause.
Last year IAWPROV31 donated their time to the Homeless Coalition of Central Florida and hosted a Vision Board party for the homeless women at the facility.
