Diana Chica: A New Face of Creative and Cultural Leadership in the Latin Music Industry

Miami, FL – July 23, 2025 – At a pivotal moment for Latin music, Diana Chica is emerging as a bold, multidimensional leader shaping the next chapter of the industry from the inside out. A Colombian-born music producer, composer, marketing strategist, and entrepreneur, Chica brings a rare combination of creative excellence, technical skill, and cultural insight to every project she touches.

Born in Bogotá, Colombia, Diana Chica began her career in her home country’s independent scene, where she co-founded Memophonic Studio—a creative space that nurtured emerging artists such as Linda Habitante, Lesley Wolf, Anamaría Laroc, and Daniella De Luca. From that ecosystem grew Monía, a pop duo that became an LGBTQ+ symbol in Colombia, earning over 698,000 organic views on YouTube for their emotionally charged and visually bold covers and originals.

Diana later moved to the United States to expand her impact. She earned a Master’s in Music Industry from the University of Miami and has experience working in the marketing department at Universal Music Group’s regional office in Miami, where she has supported campaigns for major artists including Feid, Sebastián Yatra, David Bisbal, Aitana, Lola Índigo, and Anitta. Her strategic perspective and understanding of cross-cultural audiences make her a valuable asset in both corporate and creative settings.

Simultaneously, Diana continues to thrive as an artist and producer. She is the co-founder and creative engine behind Cata Myla, a genre-defying Latin pop duo where she performs under the name “Cata.” Their latest single, “Bla Bla Bla,” released in February 2025, is a confident anthem of emotional clarity and personal power. In addition, Diana recently produced and mixed an original track for the Nashville-based rock band Full Disclosure, demonstrating her versatility across genres and her sharp command of audio production.

Her artistic vision also extends to creative entrepreneurship. Diana leads BuenVibe, a Miami-based project that organizes songwriting camps aimed at connecting international talent, blending cultures, and shaping the next generation of Latin sounds. Her mission is to make room for voices and stories that have long been underrepresented in mainstream music.

A passionate advocate for gender equity, Diana Chica is an active member of Women in Music and the Latin Recording Academy (GRAMMYs). She is also the co-founder of Sonora – Red de Ingenieras de Sonido de Colombia, a network created in partnership with London-based Vanessa Ocoro to increase the visibility of women in technical roles across the music industry.

“As Latin music evolves, we need to open new paths and platforms for unheard voices,” says Diana Chica. “My mission is to blend strategy, storytelling, and sound into something that not only entertains but transforms.”

From Bogotá to Miami, from the studio to the boardroom, Diana Chica is setting a new standard for what it means to be a cultural leader in music. With a growing body of work, institutional recognition, and a clear artistic vision, she is building a legacy that bridges markets, genres, and generations—amplifying Latin American and LGBTQ+ voices in the global music conversation.
