14-Year-Old, Zoe Valdez, Raises over $20,000.00 to Build an Education Pavilion for Her School

Zoe Valdez, a 14-year-old student, has raised over $20,000.00 to build an education pavilion for her school. She decided to take on this project to facilitate continuous learning among students affected by the pandemic in 2020 and 2021. The pavilion was built to accommodate 250 students from Kindergarten to 12th grade. Having observed that most of the students were struggling with different levels of anxiety and stress, she met contractors and business owners to raise funds, donate resources and invest their time in ensuring the project’s success. The pavilion will enhance outdoor learning, making the students physically and mentally strong.

As one of the founding female members of Boy Scouts of America, Zoe will be one of the youngest females in the scouts to earn the Eagle Scout Rank. The Eagle Scout Rank is the highest rank attainable in the Scouts BSA program of the Boy Scouts of America (BSA). Since its inception in 1911, only four percent of Scouts have earned this rank after rigorous review processes. Over 2.5 million youths have earned the Eagle Scout rank. Among these 2.5 million youths, only 1000 females have earned the rank. While her father is a Mexican-American and her mother a Puerto Rican, Zoe will be one of the first Latin females to earn the Eagle Scout Rank. This is a well-deserved honor to Zoe for making giant strides through her private philanthropy.

Zoe has always capitalized on her skills to ensure that the world becomes a safe place for people to grow and become the best of themselves. Although her school did not have enclosed spaces for outdoor learning, she was inspired by how students enjoyed, appreciated, and preferred learning outside the classroom. Through her deeds, she has encouraged young entrepreneurship on a large scale.

“14-year-old is transforming the way children learn through a pandemic. Zoe Valdez, one of the youngest females in Boy Scouts of America since allowing females in 2019, will be one of the first and youngest to earn the Eagle Scout Honor in the World,” said Zoe Valdez’s spokesperson.
