WTE(Waste to Energy) is the process of obtaining energy in the form of heat or electricity from processing waste into fuel or primary treatment of waste. These processes generate energy through combustion as well as produce methanol, methane, synthetic fuels, or ethanol. The energy obtained from this process is like that of electricity produced using natural gas, coal, and other methods. The WTE(Waste to Energy) process is forecasted to reduce municipal solid waste landfills by about 90 percent, which significantly reduces carbon dioxide emissions generated by these waste landfills.
WTE(Waste-to-Energy) plant burns waste at higher temperatures and uses the heat to make steam. The steam thus generated drives turbines to produce electricity. WTE is not a trash disposal method but a method to recover valuable resources. It’s an essential part of the waste management chain and thoroughly encourages recycling. This process avoids methane from landfills, recovers valuable metallic resources, reduces greenhouse gas emissions, produces clean energy and steam, and destroys chemical waste.
