WHITWORTH UNIVERSITY AND YAEGER CPA REVIEW PARTNER FOR SPRING 2019 COURSE

For-Credit Course Covers FAR Section of the Uniform CPA Exam

Spokane, Washington – Whitworth University and Yaeger CPA Review are pleased to partner to offer a for-credit class focusing on the Financial Accounting & Reporting (FAR) section of the Uniform CPA Exam. Designed for non-traditional students, this course (BU 476-AD) will allow students to earn three credits towards the education requirements for taking the CPA exam, in addition to gaining comprehension of AICPA topics on which they will be tested.

The course will run from March 11 to May 11, 2019. The majority of the course will be online thus allowing students to work at their own pace, at their own place. In addition, there will be optional weekly course meetings with the instructor. These will be held Thursday evenings from 6 to 8 p.m. PST at the Whitworth University Downtown campus at the Riverfront Office Park Building at 534 East Spokane Falls Boulevard, Spokane.

The course will be facilitated by Tara Lambert (D.B.A., C.P.A.), Assistant Professor of Accounting at Whitworth University. Professor Lambert earned her Doctorate in Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, and a B.A and M.B.A. from Whitworth University. She joined the School of Business faculty in 2013 and has experience teaching Intermediate Accounting, Managerial Accounting, Cost Accounting, and Auditing. Additionally, Professor Lambert has 20 years of experience in the areas of public accounting, nonprofit accounting and private industry.

Course materials are furnished by Yaeger CPA Review. With over forty years of experience preparing candidates to successfully complete the CPA Exam, Yaeger is one of the premiere review course providers in the country. Yaeger’s course materials fully integrate the AICPA blueprints, ensuring that students fully grasp the concepts on which they will be tested when sitting for the exam. These blueprints, which are a free resource usually released by the AICPA twice per year, act as a “road map” by telling the candidate more precisely exactly what tasks they will need to perform on the exam. With the blueprints incorporated into their curriculum, Yaeger students are better prepared for the multiple-choice questions, task-based simulations, and written communication tasks they will encounter when sitting for the exam.

Students will enroll in the course as non-matriculating students of Whitworth University. Students will not need to follow normal admissions processes for the university. To enroll they should contact Christie P. Anderson, Associate Dean of the School of Continuing Studies and Director of the Evening Business Programs.

The cost of the course, including cost of materials is $1,650.00 ($550.00 per credit).
