Thanks to the team at White & Faded Academy, everyone now has a chance to learn upcycling and restoring skills to transform trash into treasure.
“Our focus as a brand is on the restoration of homes, furniture and hearts with designer-quality yet affordable products, services and hospitality.” As said by Janet Parrella – van den Berg, CEO and Founder of White & Faded.
The aim is to encourage more and more people into valuing old items and learning how to transform them into beautiful centerpieces. So many products end up in landfills around the world and all it takes is a little imagination and some skills to create a new unique item that is fit for use in the home or even to create value to resell.
With the passionate pursuit of beauty and restoration in focus, the company has launched an online Academy designed to teach applicants the art of upcycling and restoration. There will be a mix of courses from beginners to intermediate levels, from 30 minutes up to 2½ hours per course. By the end of each course, attendants would have learned how to turn trash into treasures that can not only increase their value but also contribute to saving our planet.
The Academy has been organized by Janet Parrella-van den Berg, a highly skilled and experienced designer who also is the author “Beauty Restored – Inspirational Living”. She will be contributing many years of experience to helping students learn how to transform and restore old objects into amazing new treasures.
Every three months, the platform will launch free live mini-tutorials named White & Faded Challenges which will be broadcast on YouTube, Facebook, and Zoom to connect upcycling enthusiasts with others all over the world to create an engaging community of like-minded people. Participants will have the opportunity to win great prizes and learn new and fun skills.
For the past decade, White & Faded has forged a great reputation for restoring and upcycling old and unique antiques. Many homeowners have found elegant interior decor items and functional products for their homes. Her works have featured in top design magazines, including Southern Living and Rue.
Janet is a great mentor and knows how to make learning fun. In only a few years, she has built the company into a global brand with deep roots in the US and UK.
