Dentist Dr. Alfred Gigante, from Waldwick, NJ, is excited to help the community through a new charity program. By partnering with Center for Food Action, a local food bank, hungry families and children will receive help while residents get a free Pain Relief Treatment Session at his Joint and Spine Rehabilitation center. Dr. Gigante has been helping local residents of Waldwick to get rid of pain for over 35 years now. However, he has been having a growing concern about most Americans’ lack of concern for their health and body. “Many people assume that they can wait to treat their pain, until the pain becomes unbearable, but that is the wrong way to think,” said Dr. Gigante.
Studies that have recently been carried out by the National Institutes of Health’s National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health (NCCIH) and published by the American Pain Society indicate that almost 50 million American adults have significant chronic pain or severe pain.
Dr. Gigante is also concerned about what is happening to local communities. “Individuals not able to afford 3 square meals a day is a growing problem. Food demands at the local food pantries have increased and yet food donations have decreased.”
The current program organized by Dr. Gigante welcomes the local residents to give only $5 to his office as a donation to the local food bank. He will in turn reward those who participate with a free Pain Relief Treatment, including a consultation session. All the donations will be directed to Center for Food Action.
Dr. Gigante is heavily involved in giving back to his community. He volunteers frequently to assist the less fortunate with physical therapy. He further appreciates that the needs in his community are not restricted to healthcare only.
“This is a chance for our practice and our local community to work together in enhancing their quality of life by treating pain, and also extending kindness to the less fortunate among us,” said Dr. Gigante. “I call upon everyone to spread the message about this program to their networks. The more people learn about this initiative, the more families in need can get assisted, and the more healthy people will be!”
