From the wide expanses of the Grand Canyon to smoke filled night clubs, here is a video that captures the American landscape from inside out. Video director Adrian Mascato rode down Route 66, and came out with an audio-visual production that reveals a never-say-die spirit of America. The video is called ATICA – Funk Cannon, and has recently crossed 165K views on YouTube.
Funk Cannon stories the journey of DJ Atica, who travels the country from New York to Las Vegas on Route 66, and ends on Djing at the big festival, Electric Daisy Carnival Vegas (EDC). The making of Funk Cannon involved making stops at The Grand Canyon, Monument Valley, Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico and many other locations. The wide array of subject matter could confuse amateurs, but in Adrian’s adept hands and with his unique style, no special moment is ever missed.
Adrian’s videography goes beyond mere professionalism into the very heart of the subject matter he is trying to explore. The edits take viewers straight into the middle of action, putting together ordinary gestures and movements, and the camera moves in and out of an eclectic range of locations (bright to dark, outdoors to indoors, close-ups to wide angle), without ever betraying a break or shift. A seamless blend of all the things a careful observer would notice on any ordinary day.
Adrian’s past work has involved filming some big names such as Travis Scott, G Eazy, Whiz Khalifa, Zedd or Alok. He has recently captured the Super Bowl in Atlanta and filmed the performances of Rae Sremmurd and Sheck Wes.
Adrian’s next big project will be the Ultra Music Festival 2019 (March 29-31) the second year in a row. One can only wait and see what magic Adrian will come up with this year.
