The International Association of HealthCare Professionals is pleased to welcome Dennis Barek, MD, FACS, Plastic Surgeon, to their prestigious organization with his upcoming publication in The Leading Physicians of the World. Dr. Barek is a highly trained and qualified plastic surgeon with a vast expertise in all facets of his work, especially rhinoplasty, breast reduction, and breast augmentation. Dr. Barek has been in practice for more than 39 years and is currently serving patients at his private practice, Millennium Plastic Surgery, PC, located in Great Neck, New York. Furthermore, he is the medical coordinator for the New York State Department of Health, Office of Professional Medical Conduct, in New York City, a role he embraced in 2003.
Dr. Barek is a 1969 graduate of the SUNY Buffalo School of Medicine And Biomedical Sciences. He then completed his residency training in general surgery at Bronx Municipal Hospital Center, nowJacobi Medical Center, at Albert Einstein College of Medicine/Yeshiva University, and his plastic surgery residency at Kettering Medical Center in Kettering, Ohio. Dr. Barek holds board certification in plastic surgery from the American Board of Plastic Surgery and is additionally certified in age management medicine with the Age Management Medicine Group. He is a Diplomate of the National Board of Medical Examiners and Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. In addition, Dr. Barek maintains professional memberships with the New York Regional Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, and the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery.
Dr. Barek credits his success to having started practicing with an established plastic surgeon, who was an excellent mentor, and to his current work with the New York State Department of Health. He also engages in local public speaking on age management to peers and patient groups. Prior to medical school, he earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in chemistry at Binghamton University in 1965. Dr. Barek continues to attend numerous meetings, symposia, and hands on workshops yearly in order to stay on top of new developments in the field. He visits and hosts other well known plastic surgeons in order to exchange knowledge on a more personal basis.
