Vehicle History, a company founded to give consumers access to the public records of used cars, has added a service that will allow people to learn information about makes and models of used Hondas, it was announced yesterday. The company’s new initiative will let people do side by side comparisons of potential problems and historic recalls.
“When people start looking for a used car, they often have no idea what they want to buy,” said Vanessa Hernandez, a Vehicle History spokeswoman. “They may know they want a Honda, but there are so many makes and models out there that they may not know exactly which type. We hope this service will address that issue.”
Consumers can visit the Honda Problems, Recalls and Reviews page on the website on the make, model and year they are interested in. Once they do so they will be alerted to any known problems with it, read customers reviews and discover if a recall was ever issued for it, she said.
“We think this is a way for people to get a better sense of what their options are if they are thinking about buying a used Honda,” she said. “With our service, they can then look to see which models are the most reliable, and hopefully narrow down their options.”
Vehicle History has already started soliciting reviews for different makes and models and will continue to update the database for the service, she said.
“This is an ongoing effort, and we are only at the beginning of it,” Hernandez said. “Right now we want to spread the word so consumers can provide us with their experiences and help us create as rich a database of Honda information as possible.”
