Vashoun Stjon is the new rising star in the industry, known for his soulful voice, and heart-touching songwriting skills, creating a soundscape universe that takes the listener on a heartfelt journey of different emotions. Using music to express relatable aspects of life like relationships, family ties, good and bad times, Vashoun has managed to captivate the audience and create a loyal fanbase in a very short time of entering the music scene.
In the album “Remind me to forget”, released in 2018, Vashoun captures the roller coaster ride of relationships, from falling in love to heartbreak to breakups, and in his 2019 album Au.gust, he presents some deeply romantic songs, that’ll make you want to fall in love again.
Talking about his music, Vashoun states, “I want to convey a certain emotion in whatever song I choose to write or sing and for listeners being able to vibe with it. I want there to be love again and excitement. I feel like some of today’s music lack emotion or a positive message within the lyrical part of the song. I want listeners to have the best of both worlds. Bringing hints of the ‘90s to this current day & time.”
Born in Dallas Texas, the 27-year-old artist is the youngest of three siblings. He started showing an interest in music right from the age of 5, singing rhymes and random lyrics of songs to his family. Out of all the events that shaped Vashoun’s personality and music, one of the most heartbreaking was the death of his father in 2001, when he was just 9 years old.
In 2003, Vashoun’s family moved to California and this is where he began his musical journey, by writing and mixing songs. He made the transition from a Choir singer to a performing artist, by singing at the Willow Glen High School. Vashoun’s talent didn’t go unnoticed and he was invited to perform at various shows and community events in and around the city. He also won many singing competitions around the city and established himself as an energetic and confident stage performer.
