American Fork, Utah – The Utah Film Festival just concluded, and the family-friendly drama comedy Grandpa’s Crazy? came away a big winner.
The film achieved a number of nine nominations and four wins. K. Danor Gerald won Best director. Additional awards went to Jagger Woolstenhulme as Best Actor Under 18, Eric Osmond for Best Supporting Actor, and Ensemble Cast.
“The wins were a confirmation of what I already knew, we have a great cast and crew. Their combined talents have helped to make this film outstanding. I was especially pleased that the judges selected our film for the Ensemble Cast award, acknowledging the great performances of all our cast members,” said Bresnahan.
When the film was screened at the film festival it received a standing ovation from the large audience present for the live in-person showing.
“There is something for all ages in this film to identify with,” explained Bresnahan. “The kids enjoy all the skateboarding scenes. Seeing Gramps deal with elderly loneliness gives us all plenty to think about for our own loved ones. The scenes of physical child abuse, and suicidal thoughts by young teens are very current, very real concerns in society today, yet it is all done without being preachy and the story is entertaining with plenty of moments of comedy.”
Grandpa’s Crazy? is currently entered in a number of film festivals around the world, and has had a number of wins and is attracting offers from buyers and distributors.
