When Tulsa-based architectural and interior design firm Method Group takes on a new project, their team is dedicated to making sure the client and community are satisfied with the entire process: from the first meeting to opening day.
The project list goes beyond putting up four walls. The Method Group wants to create places where people belong. For example:
- an $11-million mixed-use project at the former Tulsa Boys Homesite includes community-oriented housing along with getting the space on the National Register of Historic Spaces.
- AIM High Academy, a gymnastics facility, includes a safe room which adds another level of security and peace of mind after the original building was destroyed in a tornado.
- First Baptist Church Owasso’s new building supports their mission efforts and includes counseling offices, an area where people in need can shop, and a commercial-grade kitchen.
“We believe in the importance and significance of community and being part of something bigger than yourself,” Method Group co-founder Josh Kunkel said.
Kunkel reimagined how an Architecture firm functions with an emphasis on human capital and a digital-first focus. Relying on cloud-based software and remote-capable hardware allows flexibility and allows the team to work efficiently in a remote way – keeping people connected to projects, clients, and each other.
Josh Kunkel, co-founder of the Method Group, is available to talk about any of the following topics: Architecture, Commercial Interior Design, Historic Preservation, Infill Development, Adaptive Reuse and/or Planning.
