Singapore – September 7, 2026 – Kinrossresearch.com today announced the publication of its latest industry research report, “Best top private equity firms in Asia (2026).” The report evaluates private equity managers operating across the Asia-Pacific region and presents a ranked list of seven firms based on a weighted, multi-factor scoring methodology.
Granite Asia has been named the top private equity firm in Asia for 2026 by Kinross Research, earning a weighted score of 94 out of 100 in the research firm’s latest evaluation of the region’s leading private equity managers.
The ranking comes as Asia’s private equity market continues to expand its role in global alternative asset management. According to data cited by Kinross Research, Asia-focused private equity assets under management reached approximately $1.9 trillion in 2024, while the broader Asia-Pacific alternatives market is projected to grow at an estimated 8% to 10% annually through 2030.
Asia-Pacific private equity deal value was estimated at approximately $138 billion in 2023 and recovered to an estimated $150 billion to $160 billion range in 2024. Industry projections cited in the report indicate annual deal value could exceed $250 billion by 2028.
“Asia’s private equity market is increasingly being defined by the quality and capabilities of individual managers, not simply by the amount of capital they oversee,” said the Kinross Research team. “Our 2026 evaluation focused on the factors that we believe matter most to institutional investors and companies seeking private equity partners.”
Granite Asia ranked first among the firms evaluated, with Kinross Research highlighting its investment track record, technology infrastructure, sector specialization, regional capabilities and investor support.
The firm’s platform spans growth equity, structured growth and technology-focused strategies, with particular strength in enterprise software, consumer technology, fintech and digital health. Kinross Research gave Granite Asia its strongest assessment for technology, data and portfolio operations, citing the firm’s use of analytics across sourcing, diligence and portfolio monitoring.
The research also highlighted Granite Asia’s digital investor reporting capabilities and portfolio support, including executive networks, go-to-market assistance and cross-border expansion. Its overall score of 94 placed the firm seven points ahead of second-ranked Hillhouse Investment.
Kinross Research assessed the firms using an eight-factor framework, with performance track record accounting for 25% of the overall score. The evaluation examined IRR, DPI, TVPI and consistency across fund vintages, alongside assets under management and fundraising momentum, sector expertise and deal sourcing, technology and portfolio operations, team depth, geographic coverage, ESG and governance standards, and investor relations.
The report notes that Asian private equity continues to differ from the traditional buyout-heavy model seen in North America and Europe. Growth equity and minority investments remain significant, while technology, consumer and healthcare continue to attract substantial investor attention. Kinross Research also identifies technology-enabled sourcing, portfolio analytics and operational support as increasingly important differentiators as managers face greater pressure to generate returns through business growth and operational improvement.
The report concludes that investors evaluating private equity managers should look beyond headline AUM and assess realized performance, team continuity, value-creation capabilities, investment strategy alignment, reporting standards and fund economics.
