Titan Fittings Now Manufacturing domestic Stainless Fittings in the US

For the first time in over a decade, a hydraulic and instrumentation steel fittings manufacturer is making “made in the USA” parts for the highly demanding US market.

DENVER – January 14, 2019 – Titan Fittings is pleased to announce we are expanding our offering to include custom US manufactured fittings. The steel fittings will be made using a state-of-the-art machining process in our manufacturing facility in Denver, CO. The 20,000+ square foot facility will be the home of Titan’s manufacturing center and where all machining and quality control will be performed.

The steel fittings will be made to meet the increasing demand for the stainless steel hydraulic and instrumentation market. This market has experienced rapid growth in the last 8 years and will continue to grow into the foreseeable future.

The fittings are used in various industries and applications and include NPT and BSPT Threads.  They are ideal for environments that utilize  Air, Cutting Oil, Fuel Oil, Gasoline, Hydraulic Fluid, Natural Gas, Steam, and Water including saltwater. These fittings are available in a variety of configurations including straights, elbows, tees, crosses, caps, plugs, connectors, adapters, and reducers, and include options like port connectors, tube stub, AN fittings, NPT thread, SAE thread, BSP threaded.

The manufacturing of these tube steel fittings is composed of four precision parts; body nut, front ferrule and back ferrule. The goal is to have no radial movement of the tubing upon assembly. Therefore, the tube is not stressed, and mechanical integrity is maintained. Titan Fittings pays close attention to machining, surface smoothness, and hardness of each and every part. Titan makes fittings to a tighter tolerance than other compression steel fittings is designed for high-precision applications.

Also known as instrumentation fittings and flareless fittings. The sleeve bites into the tubing as you tighten the nut to create a strong seal. Fittings are 316L stainless steel for excellent corrosion resistance. A molybdenum disulfide coating on the nut acts as a lubricant for easy installation. The two ferrules separate sealing and tube gripping functions; each ferrule is optimized for its function. The front ferrule creates a seal against the fitting body and on the tubing outside diameter. As the nut is turned, the back ferrule axially advances the front ferrule and radially applies an effective tube grip. This style of steel fitting does not require any special equipment and can typically be tightened with a wrench. Simply slide the tubing into the end connection and tighten to the required torque with a box wrench (or torque wrench for precision applications). Because of their ease of installation, the use of compression fittings is usually the least expensive overall assembly. Titan’s steel fittings do not twist the tubing during installation.  The make and remake motion are transmitted axially to the tubing. Since no radial movement of the tubing occurs, the tubing is not stressed. The mechanical integrity of the tubing is maintained.

Steel Fittings can be used on both 304 and 316L tubing, but for best results, it is recommended that they are used with 316L stainless. 316 stainless steel  fittings are manufactured from cold-finished bar stock in accordance with ASTM A-276 and ASTM A-479. Elbows, tees, and crosses, are machined from close-grained 316 stainless steel forgings in accordance with ASTM A-182. All components are heat code traceable with certified material test reports (CMTRs) available on request. More information about other materials.

Manufacturing these parts domestically is a major shift for this industry. Most hydraulic steel fittings are manufactured in China and this represents a shift.

Basil Sabbah, CEO of Titan Fittings, explains, “This is a very exciting time for small manufacturers in the US and for the instrumentation and hydraulic industries. Our ability to produce some of the highest quality fittings in the US is a great thing.”

Titan Fittings stainless steel adapters and steel fittings are used across the country in industries such as the marine industry, gas measurement, refineries, and car washes, to name a few. The rapid growth of the stainless adapter market has made it possible for companies like Titan Fittings to grow and gain market share in a relatively competitive landscape.
