The Hatchit Marketplace LLC announces the launch of Hatchit.us, an online marketplace destination for early-stage internet entrepreneurs and investors to buy and sell web-based businesses and digital assets.
“We noticed a complete lack of affordable platforms out there to help early stage entrepreneurs,” says Hatchit co-founder Dennis Schaecher. “With in-person businesses constrained now more than ever, internet-based businesses are in demand. Our platform provides entrepreneurs and early stage investors an easy, supportive, and inexpensive way to get into business quickly.”
Uptake since the Hatchit.us launch has been significant. In two months, the platform has attracted over 200 business listings worth $100+ million in value and 700+ followers on their social media channels.
“We could not have anticipated this level of enthusiasm from business brokers and owners to reach potential buyers more effectively, as well as from people looking for ways to diversify their income,” says Schaecher. “Clients and customers are clearly in need of our accessible approach to entrepreneurship.”
Listed digital assets on the platform include apps, domains, proprietary software and platforms, and other digital-based properties. Business owners and brokers post these assets through the “Sell a Business or Asset” by completing a simple form and uploading relevant text, images, and video. All posts are currently free and can be easily managed through the user’s dashboard. Prospective buyers can bookmark postings of interest, click through to read more information about the posting, and contact the seller directly.
In addition to the online marketplace, Hatchit.us has launched a new podcast series called Hatched! Startup Stories that profiles entrepreneurs who have succeeded in business or are on their way. Featured guests include Jay Wainwright, co-founder of Cosi Sandwich Bar; Pam Schaecher, founder of Amaya Textiles; and Joe Colopy, co-founder of Bronto Software.
Also on the Hatchit.us team are co-founders Paul Wilcox and Bob Anderson who, together with Schaecher, founded and sold Middlebury Wash ‘N Carry during their college years. Headquartered in the Research Triangle of North Carolina, Hatchit.us partners include LawDepot.com for legal forms and Escrow.com for secure payment transactions.
