New Zealand is now issuing electronic travel authority (ETA) visa waivers to eligible travelers from select countries. This new initiative will streamline the visa application process and make it easier for visitors to come to New Zealand.ETA visa waivers are available to citizens of Australia, Canada, Hong Kong, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan and the United States. Waivers are also available to holders of a valid New Zealand resident visa.Travelers who wish to apply for an ETA visa waiver can do so online at the New Zealand Immigration website. There is no fee for the waiver itself, but a service charge of NZD$9.00 will apply. Travelers will need to provide their passport details and contact information when applying for the waiver.Once approved, the ETA visa waiver will be valid for two years from the date of issue. During that time, travelers can visit New Zealand for up to 90 days at a time.
