Amerita, a newly launched book by authors Martin Medina and Luke Medina, is an alternate history thriller based in a post-apocalyptic world that has received great reviews from the readers on Amazon. The story is set up in 2051 where the world war III left America in dystopian economic ruin. It is targeted to a specific genre of readers who like to take their imaginations to a new kind of possibility and situations which could happen.

The currency is replaced by personal merit and the goods and services that citizens are allowed to possess depends on their objectively calculated productivity within the society.
Careers such as marketing, banking, advertising, that were dependent on capitalism are abolished as they don’t contribute to food, shelter, clothing, sanitation, healthcare, education technology, art or sport. Luke, a Merit Agency Investigator, fights to uphold all that Meritism has accomplished while the capitalist party conspires to bring back the class divisions and economic inequality in the society based on flat currency.For some people, such as the working class, Amerita is a new utopia while for others it’s a complete dystopian nightmare.
The concept of Meritism described in the book brings an interesting new perspective on the politics and the government in a country. The party released a manifesto describing their objectives, some of which states, “The more an individual contributes, the more he or she shall be rewarded. The less an individual contributes, the less he or she shall be rewarded. If an individual contributes nothing, the individual shall have no place in the community”.
