LOS ANGELES, CA – August 3, 2023 – The 2023 Miss Black California Queens have officially arrived in Washington, DC to compete for the national pageant scholarship title of Miss Black USA, Miss Black USA Talented Teen and Ms. Black USA, August 5th and August 6th. The Miss Black USA is streamed live on FOXSOUL at www.foxsoultv.com on August 6, 6/5C.
Miss Black California USA is a tradition in our community. In addition to a focus on education and black women owned businesses, the MBCA organization stresses the importance of giving back.A percentage of the funds raised support critical community programs like, My Friend’s House Foundation, which is a local initiative, supporting residents in and around the Downtown Los Angeles area known as Skid Row and Music for Your Mental Health, which provides educational assemblies and grade-specific music workshops. The MBCA organization has also partnered with the Belizean non-profit Dreams Come True Belize and Afrikicks to collect shoes/clothing and necessities to distribute to the underserved communities of Belize in 2024.
“To be a great leader, you first have to be a great servant,” said State Director- Antina Campbell.
During pageant weekend, in addition to rehearsal for pageant night, the Queens will be embarking on some pretty amazing experiences that include a red dress reception, touring a select number of African American history sites, tour of the U.S. Capitol and a private movie screening of The Kemba Smith Story.
