Swoop Holdings Ltd (ASX:SWP) has entered into a mobile wholesale partnership with TPG Telecom Ltd (ASX:TPM), strengthening the company’s mobile offering through its Moose Mobile subsidiary.
The Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) wholesale agreement, effective June 16, 2026, gives Moose Mobile access to TPG’s national mobile network on a wholesale basis.
The agreement is expected to deliver a gross margin percentage improvement of 50% across FY27, FY28 and FY29, while supporting its target to grow its mobile subscriber base to more than 180,000 net subscribers over the next 3 years.
Partnership strengthens mobile platform
The deal gives Swoop access to tier-1 network infrastructure while improving the economics of its mobile business.
Moose Mobile is focused on value-seeking customers, a large segment of the Australian mobile market, and the new wholesale terms are expected to reduce average cost per user (ACPU).
Swoop said this would expand gross margins while allowing the company to keep its existing customer proposition in place across residential, business and wholesale markets.
The partnership also broadens Moose Mobile’s addressable market through TPG’s expanded network coverage and capability.
What it means for Swoop
The agreement is expected to support growth in Swoop’s mobile subscriber base from about 135,000 subscribers to more than 180,000 services in operation over the next three years.
The company is also deploying a new billing platform and launching eSIM at the same time, initiatives it says will improve the customer experience and support deeper relationships with households.
The combined effect of the TPG wholesale agreement, billing platform upgrade and eSIM launch positions the business to deliver an improved mobile and NBN experience while driving profitable growth at scale.
Strategy focused on profitable mobile growth
Swoop chief revenue officer David Michaels said the agreement was an important step in the company’s mobile strategy.
“Securing a wholesale partnership with a tier-1 carrier on terms that improve our gross margin profile gives us both the commercial discipline and the network capability to grow mobile profitably,” Michaels said.
“We see a substantial market opportunity ahead, and this partnership positions us well to capture it.”
TPG Telecom Group executive, enterprise, government and wholesale Jonathan Rutherford said the agreement demonstrated the role of TPG’s network in supporting greater competition and consumer choice.
“We’re pleased that Swoop and Moose Mobile have chosen to build its business on the TPG Telecom network,” Rutherford said.
What’s next
Swoop will now move to leverage the wholesale agreement alongside the rollout of its new billing platform and eSIM capability.
The company’s near-term focus is on improving mobile unit economics, growing its Moose Mobile subscriber base and increasing customer penetration across mobile and NBN services.
Swoop said the partnership would support profitable growth across its residential, business and wholesale segments.
