The warming weather is a prime opportunity to take advantage of a variety of outdoor activities. One of those is the annual Golf & Tennis Classic, conducted by the Society for the Prevention of Teen Suicide (SPTS). The fundraiser offers the opportunity for outdoor fun, while furthering the work of the SPTS.
The event takes place on Monday, June 17, 2024 at the Eagle Oaks Golf & Country Club, located at 20 Shore Oaks Dr. in Farmingdale, NJ. Those that want to participate can register online, purchase their tickets, and choose to sponsor an event. Sponsoring an event comes with a variety of perks and benefits.
Morning and afternoon golf is featured, along with round robin tennis. A BBQ lunch and dinner reception will be held, along with a silent and live auction. New this year is a co-ed pickleball tournament.
SPTS is unique within the U.S. The organization has been so successful with its innovative and highly effective approach to suicide prevention that it’s risen to national prominence. Its approach to preventing suicide and array of resources have made it a premier destination for programs, training and information.
An increasing number of teens and pre-teens are suffering in silence with depression, self-doubt and poor self-esteem. Youths are particularly adept at hiding symptoms from parents. SPTS is working to reach children at an earlier age to create connections, a sense of belonging and facilitate healing through a more inclusive environment. The organization supports youth, parents, schools and professionals, to help all parties with developing essential skills required. Those skills will serve teens in the present and into adulthood. The SPTS’s suicide prevention programs and comprehensive range of resources is easily accessible online.
The annual Golf & Tennis Classic fundraiser held by the SPTS promises a day of fun, food and goodwill. It provides individuals to large corporations with an opportunity to help teens and pre-teens through the auspices of SPTS.
