The Pepita Egg is a bottled liquid product that can be found in the refrigerated egg section at Sprouts.
Traditional animal eggs are high in cholesterol and are not recommended for people with heart, kidney, or liver disease. Additionally, animal eggs can inhibit iron absorption and are a major allergen. Not only can eggs be hard on the body, but they can also be hard on the planet, too. Chicken eggs carry a heavy carbon footprint, with most laying hens around the world living in caged, crowded, and unhealthy conditions. This innovative product is also the first and only clean-label egg alternative that one can pour and cook, or use to bake. The Pepita Egg is keto-friendly, allergy-friendly, cholesterol-free, and contains no soy, gluten, nut, sugar, or processed oil ingredients. Pepita Egg carries a very carbon-light and planet-friendly footprint. Pepita production is estimated to emit 99% less CO2, uses 88% less water, and requires 87% less land than chicken egg production.
