Solocal, New App Empowering Women To Travel Solo, To Release Beta Version

LONDON, UK – October 30th, 2017 – A groundbreaking app extolling the virtues of solo female travel is soon to announce its beta launch, at the the world’s largest tech conference, Web Summit, which is set to take place in Lisbon, Portugal, on November 6th– November 9th, 2017.  Solocal, the start-up behind its soon-to-be launched eponymous app, has been selected to join the Alpha Programme at the Web Summit, and has stated that it is gearing up for the app’s unveiling to the tech world, as well as to its future users, ergo solo women travellers.

Today, there are 1.3 billion people travelling internationally every year. Among them, only 100 million women travel alone. However, they are the fastest growing segment in the international travel space, with a 10% year on year growth. Solocal, which was developed to cater to the specific needs of solo female travellers, enables them to meet each other and locals during their trips. It also partners with local businesses to provide its users exclusive offers and activities that are designed for women. During the Beta phases, it will offer further discounts to encourage users to arrange meetings.

“Solo travel is the most empowering experience I’ve had. I believe that all women should be free to experience it if they want to”, says the Founder and CEO of Solocal, Ms. Joly Zou, “Despite all the travel services available in the market, few suits our needs as solo female travellers. That’s why we built Solocal, to empower women to travel and explore more.”

Ms. Zou also spoke of what differentiates Solocal from any other travel app, saying that “We are not another social network for a niche audience. We believe in personal interactions in the real world, and use technology to facilitate it.”

The Solocal Beta version will be iOS-based, and firstly launch in London, in November, 2017.

The company encourages women travelling to or in London in between November to January 2018, to sign up to Solocal’s Beta app. Furthermore, Solocal is eager to collaborating with London-based businesses that provide services to solo women travellers. The company has shared that it is open to receiving enquiries on partnerships, via emailing Ms. Zou at joly@solocal.travel.

The company will release any future developments concerning the Solocal’s release in further communications with the press.
