On June 18th, 2018; solar glass maker Gujarat Borosil plans to invest around Rs 4.35 crore to more than double the manufacturing capacity of its tempered solar glass facility by fiscal year 2020. The company has a factory in Bharuch, Gujarat and currently produces 180 tonnes of 2mm tempered glass solar glass per day for use on existing glass modules to increase efficiency. He said the company plans to increase its production capacity to 400 tonnes per day by 2020. Many domestic module manufacturers are its customers and also export nearly 25% of their products. Since Borosil products have been accepted by domestic and foreign consumers, they hope to significantly increase their production capacity. Once the installation is commissioned, Borosi will rebuild the existing installation and hopes to increase the production capacity of the current 180 tonnes to 200 tonnes per day.
