Aug 5, 2025 – Logan, Utah – Significant software platform updates and the publication of a new report highlighting the evolving difficulties of selling on Amazon in 2025 have been announced by SmartScout, a leading supplier of analytics tools for Amazon sellers.
SmartScout was founded to give Amazon sellers useful insights into brands, categories, sellers, and ad performance. The company’s expanding its services, now working with wholesalers, private-label brands, and agencies managing e-commerce accounts. Their platform tracks data for, honestly, a wild amount of ASINs—tens of millions. The real perk? It helps businesses visualize all that info, making it easier to tweak and improve their Amazon strategies in an increasingly competitive market. Pretty useful, especially if you’re looking to stay ahead.
Platform Upgrades for Deeper Marketplace Visibility
SmartScout has introduced major updates across several of its core tools, including Scope, SellerMap, and its lineup of AI-powered features. These changes are designed to give sellers a clearer, more detailed view of their brand’s performance, monitor competitors more effectively, and uncover fresh revenue opportunities on Amazon.
Scope now offers deeper historical revenue data and improved filtering options. Sellers can break down insights by seller type, product subcategory, or even by country, making it much easier to fine-tune market research and plan strategically. It’s now possible to analyze multiple marketplaces with more control and accuracy.
SellerMap has also seen a big upgrade. This visual tool now includes heatmaps and filters based on seller type, helping users quickly identify patterns and zero in on top-performing resellers or private-label brands across different regions.
Other popular tools—like Ad Spy, Keyword Detective, Traffic Graph, and Listing Architect—have been improved with faster processing speeds, a cleaner interface, and tighter integration within the SmartScout ecosystem. The FBA Calculator has been fully revamped, now incorporating the latest Amazon fees and shipping costs so sellers can better understand their true profit margins.
“Our users want data they can trust and act on,” said the SmartScout product team. “These updates are built around their feedback and our goal to make e-commerce data more useful, visual, and easy to work with.”
Report Highlights: Rising Costs and Seller Challenges in 2025
Alongside the software updates, SmartScout released its “Voice of the Amazon Seller 2025” report. Based on a survey of 325 Amazon sellers, the report outlines key trends and concerns faced by sellers today, particularly regarding profitability, platform policies, and the rise of AI.
The report shows that more than 50% of sellers experienced reduced profitability in 2024, even though 67% raised prices to cover higher FBA fees. Still, 60% of those sellers reported lower net margins.
Mid-sized sellers—those earning between $100,000 and $1 million annually—were most affected by account suspensions. 35% of respondents in this group faced some form of suspension, causing significant business disruptions.
Sellers also criticized Amazon support. Nearly two-thirds believe Amazon is no longer a fair marketplace, and 46% said seller support has worsened in the last two years. 60% of respondents reported that Amazon’s support teams actively hindered their business.
Interestingly, responses to Amazon’s own AI tools were mixed. Only 15.6% of sellers said that Amazon’s AI features helped their business, while 16.6% reported a negative impact.
“The survey confirms what many sellers have been feeling—Amazon is changing quickly, and it’s becoming harder to stay profitable without deep, strategic insight,” the report stated. “Fee increases, account issues, and limited support are changing how sellers approach the platform.”
Supporting Sellers With Actionable Insights
SmartScout aims to help sellers respond to these changes by providing better intelligence and visualization. With tens of millions of ASINs indexed and constantly updated, the platform offers one of the most extensive Amazon analytics suites available.
Its visual-first design allows users to explore categories, seller networks, traffic estimates, and keyword strategies without having to sort through spreadsheets or Amazon’s tools.
SmartScout is used by Amazon sellers across various business models, including retail arbitrage, wholesale, private-label, and agency-managed accounts. New users can access a 7-day free trial to explore features such as brand revenue tracking, ad intelligence, seller identification, and profitability forecasting.
