It was a year of growth for Miami-based SkySpace Cargo, whose innovative air cargo booking platform saw record adoption in 2018. Founded two years ago by veteran freight forwarders, the company saw its client base reach a milestone 50,000 users in Q4. SkySpace opened a data and support center in Mexico, grew its US team, and signed partnership agreements with some of the world’s largest freight forwarder networks.
CEO Toby Raworth says the company started with a solid foundation in Brazil, still one of their key markets today. Their core client base has grown just as strong in the United States, Germany and France. To address the increased global demand, SkySpace today announced major expansion in Q1 2019. Next month, call centers will open in Buenos Aires, Argentina and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in February, followed by Warsaw, Poland in March.
SkySpace Cargo can credit its growth to the unprecedented level of convenience and efficiency they brought to the freight industry. They released the world’s first air cargo trading platform, which freight forwarders use to quote, book and manage global shipments. The platform optimizes routes from over 50,000 flights and more than 100 airlines. Users can obtain instant quotes with pricing updated daily. The transparent pricing and streamlined booking process eliminates protracted quoting and operational procedure. The platform also serves as a hub for customs forms, cargo photographs and inspection documents.
Though much of the process is automated through SkySpace’s technology, the leadership recognizes that live phone support is also necessary. The new locations allow the company to provide localized support during their clients’ working hours across Asia, Europe and South America.
