Sharon McMahan is proudly announcing the launch of a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter to raise funds and support for her upcoming album of her Northern Soul Songs. Sharon, a songwriter/artist, will record a new album, a compilation of her compositions recorded by Detroit artists, such as, Barbara Lewis, Deon Jackson, Johnnie Mae Matthews,Gracie Darnell, Jimmy Delphs in the 60’s and 70’s. Also included will be her songs recorded by Mavis Staples, Etta James, The Three Degrees and the London based group, The Searchers. Other songs will be those recorded by Sharon, as artist. All of the songs to be included were written by this talented prolific writer, providing the ultimate collection to the fans of Northern Soul Music in the UK and worldwide. The goal of her Kickstarter campaign is to raise a sum of $20,000 and she is inviting soul music fans around the world to support this project.
When asked about her project, Sharon stated, “It is my goal to record an album of the songs, I performed in Cleethorpes, England in 2015 for my Northern Soul UK audience.” She wants to give the soul music fans something they can appreciate and hold onto for years to come. All the funds raised through this Kickstarter campaign will be applied to bringing this project to its completion. Sharon sends out a “thank you” to all in advance for your generous support.
