Back in 1997, Hamboards which was once a small garage project of a family of lifeguards and surfers in Huntington Beach, California, successfully recreated the their feeling of surfing on land.

“At first, the idea was to get a piece of wood to feel like surfing. It’s been the holy grail of unattainable skateboard design. Somebody had to do it, and we did,” said Pete Hamborg – a full-time firefighter, surfer and founder of Hamboards. “Today, it’s a lot more than simply emulating surf on the streets. Surfskaters demand more thrill, extreme carves, pump and thrash”.

Hamboards claim that all the hype and wait for the all-new ‘Carve Collection’ surf-skateboards will be worth it, and it is “next-level surfskating”.

“The aim was to take the smaller Hamboard styles and make them carve sharper and cruise smoother than ever previously imagined.  We stripped the boards, redesigned every single component and gave them a fresh Cali look with artwork inspired by Birdwell® Beach Britches,” said Donnie, Chief of Hamboards at the launch. “For the first time ever, every last component in these new boards is designed by entirely by Hamboards and built to our specifications, even the bearings.”

The ‘Carve Collection’ is expected to reach Europe, Israel, Australia, and Japan by April.

About Hamboards

Family man, Fireman and Surfer Peter Hamborg first created his land-surfboard to simulate the feeling of surfing on land.  It was pure desperation, an effort to occupy his 5 sons on days there was no surfing. As surfskating became more popular, the small garage hobby turned into a business and Pete somewhat reluctantly founded Hamboards together with his family.  Pete just wanted to “change the world, one really big skateboard at a time”. Later he enlisted his cousin Donnie to pitch-in. Together they made a successful pitch on ABC’s hit TV Show Shark Tank which launched their local Huntington Beach “shaper shop” into a worldwide sports equipment business.  Today, Hamboards remains a family owned and operated business and boasts a passionate fanbase in all five continents.
