The Red Hot Chili Peppers headlined several festivals across North America and Europe over the summer and will be touring across Europe throughout the fall. In January, they will kick off the North American leg of their tour in honor of their new album, The Getaway. This is their eleventh studio album.
The North American tour will include 24 dates in the United States and Canada. It will begin on January 5 in San Antonio, Texas and will conclude on March 18 in Vancouver, British Columbia. Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue will serve as the opening act throughout the entire tour. Former Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Jack Irons will open for the January dates.
The Red Hot Chili Peppers had worked with Producer Rick Rubin on their albums for the past 25 years. This time around, they worked with Brian Burton, aka Danger Mouse, who encouraged them to leave behind the dozens of songs they had been working on and start fresh in the studio.
