Phish will be returning to the road this fall for another leg of their United States tour. The Fall Tour 2016 will begin with a performance in North Charleston, South Carolina on October 14. It will include several dates across the southern United States and will conclude with four shows in Las Vegas later that month. The final show on the fall tour will take place on Halloween, October 31, in Las Vegas.
Phish is known around the world for their unique sound and the band members’ tendency to improvise on stage. The musicians perform long jams that blend several genres of music, including progressive rock, fund, psychedelic rock, folk, blues, jazz, pop, and bluegrass. Despite receiving limited radio play, Phish has developed a loyal fan following, and many fans share live recordings of shows. The band has sold millions of albums and DVDs in the United States.
Phish was originally formed at the University of Vermont in 1983. The current lineup of Trey Anastasio, Mike Gordon, Jon Fishman, and Page McConnell has been playing together since 1985. The band performed together for almost two decades before going on a hiatus from 2004 to 2009. They reunited to play three shows in Hampton, Virginia in 2009 and have been performing together ever since.
