RZS160 Asphalt Mixing Plant Hot In-Place Recycling Equipment – Case Study in Sui County, Henan Province

Recently, the RTZK RZS160 asphalt Mixing Plant hot in-place recycling equipment was successfully installed and put into operation in Sui County, Henan Province. This project utilizes the customer’s existing primary plant and adds a 2000-type hot recycling module, enabling recycling upgrade without replacing the main unit.

Two Major Renovation Challenges and How We Overcame Them

Challenge 1: Material adhesion in the recycling chute

Solution: Upgraded the traditional external recycling system to an active mixing system, incorporating RTZK’s patented technology, effectively preventing material adhesion and eliminating safety hazards associated with manual chute cleaning.

Challenge 2: Draft system imbalance causing smoke backflow and dust emission

Solution: Optimized the design of the draft system to ensure optimal induced and forced draft performance, enabling the main and auxiliary burners to achieve full combustion and efficiently transfer heat energy to the material. On-site results show no smoke backflow or dust emission, cleaner exhaust gas, energy saving, and environmental protection.

Cold Feed System

Features an internal vibration structure providing large vibration amplitude for smooth material flow and discharge. Equipped with dual control via variable frequency drive and gate opening to ensure precise and stable primary ingredient proportioning.

Recycled Hot Material Storage Bin

Adopts thermal oil circulation for heating and insulation, effectively preventing recycled material agglomeration and ensuring smooth discharge.

Recycling Drying Drum

Equipped with a coal-fired burner utilizing a combined flame radiation + flue gas heat exchange heating mode, significantly reducing fuel consumption. The internal structure features a rake-type configuration and staggered swinging chains, complemented by an extended drum length, greatly improving heat exchange efficiency. Direct-coupled gear motor drive reduces transmission losses, ensuring high efficiency and higher production capacity.

Safety Features

Integrated with multi-point real-time monitoring and interlock control system, including fast air damper adjustment, automatic flame failure protection, and low-level warning alarm, ensuring comprehensive safe and stable operation of the equipment.

Environmental Protection & Energy Efficiency

The main tower features a fully sealed negative-pressure structure to suppress dust emission at the source. Recycled flue gas is treated with a secondary combustion process to reduce emissions and improve environmental performance. The induced draft fan blades are treated with an anti-stick coating to maintain high heat exchange efficiency. The large-section discharge box allows natural settling of fine particles, further improving on-site working conditions.
