KITCHENER, Ontario – RootSecure announces the Launch of a SaaS-based Risk Assessment product for the Small Business and Mid-Sized Enterprise Market. RootSecure is a new entrant to the growing Vulnerability Assessment (VA) market offering comprehensive scanning, analytics. and reporting. These products and services have traditionally not been accessible by SMB and Mid-Market Enterprise customers either due to complexity or high costs of other solutions.
RootSecure deploys into any size or type of network and immediately starts scanning and assessing the level of Cyber Risk present with all the devices it identifies. The information is then securely transferred to the cloud where it’s analyzed and presented in way that any individual can understand the risk, impact, and the steps required to resolve the issue.
“RootSecure was created with both the technology professional and executive stakeholder in mind,” said James Mignacca, RootSecure President, and CEO. “When talking to organizations about matters of compliance or fiduciary duties, we received overwhelming feedback that most businesses feel their understanding of Cyber Risk is virtually non-existent. That’s one of the problems we are aiming to solve for any size of business”
RootSecure was running a pilot program throughout 2016 with 30 customers representing various markets, including utilities, municipalities, corporations, and higher education. In all cases where RootSecure was deployed, numerous critical vulnerabilities were revealed to the IT and Executive teams. In early February 2017 RootSecure was used to identify devices vulnerable to EternalBlue which was the exploit used to propagate WannaCry; a nefarious form of Ransomware which took the world by storm in May.
“It’s become unrealistic to think firewalls and anti-malware solutions are 100% effective,” said Ian Hassard, RootSecure Director of Product Management. “Most organizations focus their budgets on pre-breach protection not realizing they still have many blind spots where attackers can exploit and exfiltrate information. With regulations and compliance surrounding Cyber Risk due-diligence, it’s no longer enough to simply do an assessment once a year.”
The RootSecure product launch also includes a new go to market strategy which includes channel partners across North America, which enables channel partners the ability to combine their IT Services with the RootSecure workflow for end users who may need assistance mitigating vulnerabilities found in their network.
