Rocky Mount, NC – June 27, 2018 – Girls ages 8 – 15 are welcome to join Young Ladies Empowerment Series Youth Summer Camps for four fun and educational camps at OIC 402 E. VIRGINA STREET ROCKY MOUNT, NC 27801. Full-week camps.
4 camps include: Culinary Camp, Public Speaking/Entrepreneurial Camp, Sewing/Fashion Camp & Stem Camp.
This year STEM Summer Camp turns to STEAM. Dr. Tyson incorporates language arts through public speaking, culinary arts, and fashion design to explore how art can provide teens and tweens with new and imaginative opportunities for communication and expression. The addition of art themes inspires young people to be creative and communicate their ideas and findings. Dr. Tyson, “Art serves as a pathway to STEM for traditionally underrepresented students. Not everyone fits the profile of a traditional scientist, and STEM careers. The addition of art provides another avenue for our youth to experience success in STEM and aid them in learning skills that are needed to be successful in the 21st century.
There will be a traditional STEM camp that will allow students to learn about careers in genetics, zoology, civil engineering, statistics, animal science and mechanical engineering.
The culinary camp will connect students to the foods they eat through cooking. They’ll learn the basic, like etiquette, clean eating, knife skills, meal preparation and team work.
The public speaking camp will give an edge in public speaking, presentation skills, professionalism, leadership and dinning etiquette.
The fashion camp will allow students to learn fashion styles, coordinate color and themes, sketch, and design and of course sewing and creativity.
Additionally, Tyson Multimedia will also offer an entrepreneurship camp for those that would like to learn & explore the fundamentals of designing, launching and running a business.

Tyson Multimedia is a well-known empowerment program that is creatively designed to inspire and motivate young adults and teens in various parts of the glove. This program was formed by Dr. Tiffany D. Tyson from Wilson, North Carolina. She is also the author of Urban Princess.
