Rex Nichols Architects Has Designed The First Glass House With A Solid Sculptural Core

Fort Lauderdale, Florida – For this quaint setting, defined by a natural canopy or “hammock” of tropical hardwood trees, Alex Penna from RNA introduced an architectural design concept of a glass house with a sculptural core, reaching upward beyond the embrace the canopy of oak trees. “Open to the Trees” is a case study of simplicity and elegance in harmony with its beautiful surroundings.

Rex Nichols Architects (RNA) is on a mission to express a new vision for contemporary design with its sculptural geometric forms and playful layouts that continually provoke, challenge, and inspire. One of their more compelling residential designs, “Open to The Trees,” is a three-story contemporary home located in Colee Hammock, a neighborhood of waterfront homes along the Tarpon River and Intracoastal Waterway canals of Las Olas Isles in Fort Lauderdale.

Miami architects – RNA, headquartered in Miami and Fort Lauderdale, Florida, is gaining international recognition for their eye-catching contemporary houses. Under the leadership of Senior Designer Alex Penna, RNA has grabbed the attention of Emaar Properties and awarded the design of mid-rise luxury residences at Dubai Creek Harbour.

RNA has been included in the top 50 USA Coastal Residential Architects since 2015 and continues to expand its global footprint with projects in Florida, New York, Los Angeles, Cape Cod, Palm Springs, the Bahamas, and Dubai.

RNA has garnered multiple AIA Awards for Excellence in Architecture and Platinum Awards from the Building Association of South Florida. Rex Nichols, Principal of RNA and Vice President of AIA in Fort Lauderdale, is a veteran architect of over three decades and a revered fixture of national and international publications.
