Travis Johnson is a retired US Army vet, who retired to Minnesota in 2018 with his family to start a small farm on 40 acres of land that belonged to his wife’s parents. This family-owned farm currently consists of Belted Galloway cattle, swine, Kinder Goats and poultry. Travis now wants to start a dairy plant at the farm so that he can sell goat milk candies online, on retail, and across the United States. To start his dairy farm, Travis has recently launched a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter, where he is seeking funding and support from the crowdfunding community.
“Kinder goats are a cross between Nubian and Pygmy goats, the result is a dual breed mid-size goat.” Said Travis Johnson, while introducing this project to the Kickstarter community. “They do not produce as much milk as the Nubians, but the milk they do produce has a much higher milk fat content.” He added. According to research, higher milk fat results in some of the richest candies, fudges and caramels, which is why Travis is focused on this particular breed for his farm.
