With over 30 years of experience, Dr. Akbar specializes in clinical nephrology and dialysis.
Dr. Akbar was educated at Osmania University, where he graduated in 1970, and additionally completed an internship, residency, and fellowship at Henry Ford Hospital. Dr. Akbar is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, and maintains professional memberships with the American College of Physicians, American Medical Association, American Society of Nephrology, Wayne County Medical Society, and the Michigan State Medical Society.
Dr. Akbar attributes his success to caring for his patients, listening to them, and making sure they get the best care possible. In addition to assisting patients, Dr. Akbar gives lectures on a local, regional, and national level, where he does continued medical education and research presentations.
