Rectify: The Race 2018 scheduled to hold in September 2018

Annual cancer awareness walk run, Rectify: The Race 2018, scheduled to hold on September, 2018 across over 15 cities

RECTIFY: THE RACE is an annual cancer awareness event organized by the Maryland-based cancer advocacy group, The Ferguson Foundation Inc. RECTIFY: THE RACE 2018, otherwise tagged RTR2018, is the 5th edition of the event. RECTIFY: THE RACE 5/10k Cancer Run/Walk 2018 is scheduled to hold on Saturday, the 22nd September, 2018. Registration for the event has been subsequently thrown open to interested candidate, with the first day of colorectal cancer awareness month being March 1, 2018.

Cancer is the number killer in the world, with millions of people across the globe dying due to the disease. Colon and rectal cancers have been identified as the second highest domestic cancer-killers. Research has shown that most cancer types can only be managed and not totally cured. The actual cause of cancer has also remained unknown. Consequently, prevention has been advocated as a means of tackling cancer. The Ferguson Foundation Inc. has therefore taken the bull by the horn by creating awareness about cancer by reaching over 15 cities across the United States with its annual RECTIFY: THE RACE event.

RECTIFY: THE RACE was created by the founder of The Ferguson Foundation Inc., Dr. Anissa Ferguson, who is a cancer survivor. Dr. Ferguson created RECTIFY: THE RACE to help provide the financial resources needed to provide meal services to patients. The event was also created to spread information and advocacy about colon and rectal cancers as the second highest, domestic cancer-killer while helping others to lower cancer risk by increasing physical activity and promoting health and wellness within the community and across the nation.

The Ferguson Foundation Inc. is a Maryland-based cancer advocacy group, with a national reach that supports cancer survivors and their families by providing meal services at no out-of-pocket expense to patients, while undergoing chemotherapy, radiation and within 30 days of a supportive surgery. Rectify: The Race is one of the programs organized by the foundation for its advocacy cause.

The event is organized to achieve two major purposes:

–      Increasing health and wellness across the nation to decrease cancer risk and improve overall health to males and females of all ages; as it is a family-friendly event.

–      To support its parent organization, The Ferguson Foundation Inc., a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization to provide complimentary meal services to cancer survivors and their families.
