REAL ESTATE APPRAISER SHORTAGE IMMINENT AS MARKET IMPACT LOOMS

Aging Appraiser Population Opens Career Opportunities –New Book Guides the Way

Chicago, ILLINOIS  – AUG 28, 2017 – The demand for Real Estate Appraisers is increasing while the supply is diminishing. Statistics compiled from the Appraisal Subcommittee National Registry show that more than half of the appraisers in the U.S. are 51 to 65 years of age and another 11% are aged 66 and older. Illinois State Certified Real Estate Appraiser Sharon P. Carson hopes to attract a new generation of appraisers with her book, “How to become a Real Estate Appraiser (3rd Edition)”. The book provides unique and valuable insight into the Real Estate Appraisal profession, as well as, how to break into it.

By discussing some of her personal and professional experiences, Carson- a veteran Residential Real Estate Appraiser with more than 35 years of experience – provides a unique perspective inviting readers to explore what she considers, “The best home-based business in America.” The book, a comprehensive guide to becoming a Real Estate Appraiser, is available now on Amazon.com and through Kindle eReader.

It is the author’s opinion that this is an often-ignored profession that now offers enhanced entrance opportunities. “There were many factors on a personal level that attracted me to the profession,” states Carson. “Among them, the ability to become my own boss while making a lucrative income in the process. But even more important,” she continued, “Was the ability to set my own work hours and schedule working from home which allowed me to remain close to my three children during their formative and school years.”
