Real Dads™ Network Hosts the 11th Daddy Daughter Dance

Fatherhood non-profit and action-oriented organization, Real Dads™ Network, organizes the 11th edition of its annual Daddy Daughter Dance event to celebrate the special relationship between fathers and their daughters

Derek Phillips and the rest of the team at Real Dads™ Network have announced plans for the upcoming 11th Daddy Daughter Dance to hold on Saturday, February 18, 2023, at The Alhambra Ballroom 2116 Adam Clayton Powell Jr. in New York City, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. The theme for the upcoming dance event is “Under the Sea,” in anticipation of the movie The Little Mermaid. The premier, elegant affair has been described as a highlight of the Valentine’s Day weekend, presenting an opportunity for dads and their daughters to dress up, dance, have dinner, talk, and share a memorable evening with other fathers and daughters.

As the primary male role model, fathers influence their daughters in profound ways-from how they see themselves to what they come to expect from men and the world at large,” states Derek Phillips, Founder & CEO of Real Dads Network. “A daughter’s self-concept as a female, and woman, is largely shaped by the relationship she has with her father and impacts how she views herself and her place in the world.

The Daddy Daughter Dance has grown in popularity over the years, providing a platform to celebrate that special relationship between fathers and their daughters and promote the importance and necessity of fathers playing a pivotal role in their children’s lives. A signature event for RDN, the dance draws fathers and daughters from around the tri-state area along with celebrities, sports figures, and other guests, featuring musical performances and a few surprises to make the night memorable.

Twelve-year-old, Jackie Mcgrew, daughter of Ron Mcgrew, said the daddy-daughter dance always made her feel “loved, special and beautiful.” Real Dads Network has influenced states like Illinois, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Virginia, and other places to do daddy-daughter dances. It resonates with the organization’s goal of ensuring that fathers and their children remain connected, regardless of marital or living situation, while helping families to feel supported and empowered to become proud, active, contributing members of society.
