Raycono UVC LED Sterilizer Launched on Kickstarter to Kill Germs Anywhere, in only 10 seconds

Portable, compact and effective device to kill germs and bacteria offers mothers an easy way of keeping their babies safe and healthy

Hong Kong – Kickstarter is today the launching ground for the Raycono Portable UVC LED Sterilizer, a portable compact device that provides users the chance of eliminating harmful germs and bacteria safely and effectively, at anytime and anywhere, in only 10 seconds.

“Germs and bacteria are literally everywhere. We do not see them, but we are constantly exposed to them, which is why we get allergies, we become sick, and see our babies and toddlers falling sick all the time. That’s why we decided to create the Raycono Portable UVC LED Sterilizer, a device that uses UVC light to effectively kill bacteria, allowing anyone to keep a clean and safe environment in their homes, offices and generally in every aspect of their lives,” stated Peaker, author of this crowdfunding campaign.

The problems that the Raycono Sterilizer aims to tackle are translated into staggering numbers. A toothbrush has 10 million bacteria living in it, pillows are filled with acarid, and baby towels, clothes, and so many other baby accessories often have germs left by the saliva of babies. A makeup brush or sponge present the same challenges, and so do glasses, computers, cell phones, wallets, and so many other items of people’s everyday lives.

When it comes to children, these threats are more visible. Statistically, children can touch and retouch over 300 surfaces in just 30 minutes; the average toddler gets six to eight colds per year, and school-aged children can get as many as 12; germs that cause colds and flu can survive on common classroom surfaces for up to 72 hours.

“These are the reasons why, while we are telling everyone that the Raycono Portable UVC LED Sterilizer is the perfect, affordable and efficient sidekick in the life of any person, we are focusing even more on mothers, since this device is perfect to help keep their children safer and healthier. Instead of just making sure that their children wash their hands, they can also effectively clean and disinfect the objects and surfaces that they use or are exposed to,” Peaker detailed.

The Raycono Portable UVC LED Sterilizer uses short wavelength ultraviolet (UV-C) light to kill or inactivate microorganisms by destroying their nucleic acids and disrupting their DNA. At wavelengths around 260 nm–270 nm, UV is mutagenic to bacteria, viruses, and other microorganisms, breaking molecular bonds within the microorganism’s DNA, producing thymine dimers that can kill or disable them. That is precisely Raycono’s wavelength, which means that the Raycono Sterilizer leaves all these hazardous microorganisms unable to perform their vital cellular functions and cause harm.

Being portable, extremely compact and safe, the Raycono Portable UVC LED Sterilizer allows users to simply place the sterilizer 3-5cm away from the object or surface that they want to sterilize and let the UVC light work its bacteria-killing effects. Users can hold it for a few seconds more to obtain even stronger effects, knowing that the device has been tested and authorized by the Swiss SGS, having been certified to have a sterilizing rate of up to 99.92%.

The Raycono Portable UVC LED Sterilizer’s UVC chip is made in Japan, and its circuit is made in Israel, and it is made of aircraft grade aluminum. The device is equipped with the latest BMS battery management system, with an intermittent pulse control circuit, lower calorific value and higher power, which means it can be charged only once per month, offering users one entire month of autonomy until the next charge. For increased safety, the sterilizer also comes with a child lock to protect children from unwanted, unsupervised and incorrect utilization.

Raycono was established in 2004. While the company initially focused on the illumination business, having been the lighting provider for JW Marriot, Macy’s, Target, JC Penny, Cologne Cathedral, and for the Headquarters of the United Nations, in 2014 Raycono entered the health business. Currently, the company has high-profile collaborations with some of Japan’s, Israel’s and the UK’s most important companies.
