Joey 6’1″, a rap artist, is introducing a new holiday-themed song, Halloween Rap II. There are definitely going to be a lot of Halloween songs releasing this period, but this one is going to stick with many people. Already it’s becoming a hit, feeling like an instant classic, with a sense of familiarity to it. Joey 6’1’’ is a master at channeling a wide variety of musical influences, but in such a way the sound never feels like a trite re-composition of some other artist’s music, but rather something quite original.

The track kicks off with some siren sounds in the distance, quickly transforming into a huge melody. It is very compressed with a really punchy tone that will hit listeners right in the gut. The kick drum and the hi-hats are equally as impressive, driving the rhythm and perfectly lacking in with the melodies of the song.

This is a great example of how to combine old-school influences with modern ideas in order to create a very exciting hip-hop track with a unique personality. From the quality of the production to the energy of the performance everything seems to work perfectly on “Halloween Rap II”.
