The journey to creating Summit Mountain Lodge has been filled with challenges, but it has also been incredibly rewarding. Ted and Mara Chase began with a dream and a resort that had been in disrepair for over six years; today, they welcome visitors from all over the world to this magical corner of Montana, providing outstanding accommodations, breathtaking scenery, and warm hospitality. They also hope that their story can be an inspiration to others.
As Ted puts it, “When we first started Summit Mountain Lodge, we had little to no knowledge of the hospitality industry. But over the past ten years, we’ve learned, grown, and made our dream come true. We hope that our story can inspire others to take a chance on their dreams and never give up on what they believe in.”

Situated near Glacier National Park, all the cabins afford incredible views. Visitors can watch moose and wildlife from the front porch of one the nine newly remodeled cabins. In mid-June, the restaurant opens for the season and serves the finest fresh, flavorful food, beverages, and desserts. Everything, including the sauces and marinades, is made in-house. The stunning scenery, combined with delectable cuisine, captivates the imagination.

In 2013, Ted and Mara Chase fell in love with Glacier National Park, purchased Summit Mountain Lodge, and embarked on a remarkable journey. Ted, a wildlife photographer, and Mara, hailing from Guatemala, embraced the Montana lifestyle, facing challenges and celebrating triumphs.
As Summit Mountain Lodge enters its 10th season, it stands as the “Glacier’s Best Kept Secret,” overlooking the park with warmth and comfort. Living at 5200 feet with 300 inches of snowfall annually, Ted and Mara’s commitment is a testament to their enduring love and dedication.
