What are our favorite 90210 zip-coders up to now?
Since TriCoast Entertainment released Jeff Kopas (‘An Insignificant Harvey’, ‘Dogasaur’, ‘The Other Side’) and Doug Taylor’s (‘Splice’, ‘A Christmas Horror Story’, ‘Darknet’) Canadian psychological thriller, ‘BLOOD HONEY’ to U.S. audiences in late January, the latest buzz has been centered around lead, Shenae Grimes-Beech as ‘Jenibel Heath’ – the no-longer sweet high school theatre geek like we remember her from her “90210” TV series days as ‘Annie Wilson’.
Kansas-girl no longer – Grimes-Beech’s character, Jenibel, returns to her family’s secluded lodge for the first time in 10 years to help her sister take care of their deathly ill father. The return home causes her repressed, traumatic memory of her mother’s suicide to re-enter her mind, as the demons from her childhood take over her life with hallucinations as she loses the ability to grasp reality.

‘BLOOD HONEY’ is “filled with gorgeous cinematography showing off this remote home, which is reached only by flying in a seaplane. Almost reminiscent of a Northern Exposure type community, except eerie and creepy. There’s a constant unsettling score back dropping the entire movie and setting so we know despite the beautiful, serene location, nothing is actually right. We also never go long without shots of her dead mother or scenes of her mother jumping to her death,” wrote Anne Campbell from Film Gate Reviews.
Since the CW’s revival of the original ‘Beverly Hills, 90210’ ended in 2013, Grimes-Beech has starred in ‘BLOOD HONEY’ and has a new exciting upcoming role as in CTV’s new, gritty television series, ‘The Deal’ (2018).
Now our minds are buzzing… what has the “90210” cast been up to recently?
1. Annalynne McCord as ‘Naomi Clark’
The once queen-bee that ruled West Beverly High has maintained her acting career, starring on CBS show ‘Stalker’ (2014), and TV series, ‘The Night Shift’ (2016), ‘Secrets and Lies’ (2016), and ‘Let’s Get Physical’ (2018).
2. Trevor Donovan as ‘Teddy Montgomery’
The dreamy, gorgeous, tennis-superstar is still a television regular, starring on ABC Family’s ‘Melissa & Joey’, MTV’s ‘Awkward’, Lifetime’s ‘Drop Dead Diva’ and ‘The Client List’. He has also been noted for his 2015 role in ‘Texas Rising’.
3. Michael Steger as ‘Navid Shirazi’
Steger has since been featured in ‘Ana Maria in Novela Land’ (2015) and ‘True Blood’ (2010), as well as several shorts and small projects, such as ‘Vegas’ and ‘Non-Stop’. Currently in post-production, Steger will star in the new 2018 TV series, ‘American Woman’.
4. Jessica Stroup as ‘Erin Silver – a.k.a Silver’
Like Silver, Jessica has continued to pursue edgy and exciting roles including horror films, ‘The Hills Have Eyes II’ (2007) and ‘Prom Night’ (2008), and also her role on Kevin Bacon’s intense television drama, ‘The Following’ (2014 – 2015).
5. Tristan “Mack” Wilds as ‘Dixon Wilson’
Wilds’ role on “90210” allowed him to get his foot into the entertainment industry, starring in ‘Half Nelson’ (2006) and ‘The Secret Life of Bees’ (2008), and is now pursuing his passion for R&B music under the name, ‘Mack Wilds’. His debut album in 2013 was titled New York: A Love Story and was nominated for a Grammy award in 2014.
6. Jessica Lowndes as ‘Adrianna Tate-Duncan’
Young, high school ex drug addict who overcomes the pressured-to-be-perfect life in the elite zip code of Beverly Hills has continued to pursue a variety of roles, including guest-starring on ABC Family’s sit-com, ‘Young & Hungry’ alongside Emily Osment, as well as tapped into the drama/horror genre with the ABC drama, ‘Motive’ (2015), and films, ‘A Mother’s Nightmare’ (2012) and ‘The Haunting of Molly Hartley’ (2008).
