MEDEER specializes in the production of Polyester Webbing, which features high strength, wear resistance, wrinkle resistance, corrosion resistance and easy drying.
Polyester (polyester fiber), as a synthetic polymer material, has rapidly become an important raw material in the textile industry since its industrial production in the middle of the 20th century, thanks to its excellent physical and chemical properties.
Polyester webbing is a narrow or tubular fabric made from polyester filament or staple fibers. It features high strength, wear resistance, wrinkle resistance, corrosion resistance and easy drying. Compared with traditional natural fibers, the breaking strength of polyester fibers can reach 3.5-8.0cN/dtex, with a high modulus and good resilience. These characteristics make it particularly suitable for the production of webbing products. MEDEER webbing is produced by weaving (shuttle weaving).
The production processes of polyester webbing mainly fall into three categories: weaving (shuttle weaving), braiding (spindle weaving), and knitting. Weaving is the most traditional technique, which forms fabrics by interweaving warp and weft yarns. The weaving process involves the yarns rotating and moving along an 8-shaped track, interweaving with each other. Knitting techniques use looped yarns to connect the warp and weft yarns into a single unit. These three basic processes each have their own characteristics, and the most suitable production method can be selected according to the performance requirements of the final product.
The innovation of weaving technology is a key node in the development of polyester webbing. In the early 1960s, China’s textile industry converted the 1511 loom into a webbing machine, and this improvement enabled webbing production to enter a semi-mechanized stage. In 1967, the high-speed single-strand shuttleless ribbon weaving machine independently designed and manufactured by industry workers was successfully developed, achieving a historic breakthrough in ribbon weaving without shuttles. This innovation not only shortened the process, reduced the floor space, but also significantly increased labor productivity, and was hailed as a pioneering achievement in the history of Chinese ribbon weaving technology. In the 1980s, with the introduction of high-speed shuttle belt weaving machines from Switzerland, Italy and the Federal Republic of Germany, China’s belt weaving technology entered a new stage of development, and production efficiency and quality were further enhanced. The color of MEDEER webbing is bright and vivid, with high color fastness.
The dyeing process of polyester webbing has also undergone significant innovation. The traditional high-temperature and high-pressure dyeing method has high energy consumption and large wastewater discharge. However, modern technologies such as disperse dye dyeing at normal temperature and pressure and supercritical carbon dioxide dyeing not only reduce energy consumption and wastewater discharge, but also improve dyeing efficiency and product quality. Especially the supercritical carbon dioxide dyeing technology, which uses supercritical CO₂ as the solvent to replace water and organic solvents, achieves waterless dyeing, significantly reducing wastewater discharge. At the same time, it has the advantages of fast dyeing speed, bright colors, and high color fastness.
The advancement of post-treatment technology after dyeing is also an important aspect of the development of polyester webbing technology. In the 1970s, with the promotion and application of continuous dyeing and ironing machines for ribbons, the processing technology of polyester low-elasticity colored ribbons underwent a revolutionary change. It shifted from the traditional “dyeing first and then weaving” to “weaving first and then dyeing” and “weaving first and then bleaching”, achieving continuous post-ironing treatment. This marked the entry of ribbon weaving technology into the stage of large-scale mechanized production. This transformation not only enhanced production efficiency but also made the product color more uniform and consistent, and the quality more stable and reliable.
The application fields of MEDEER polyester webbed are diversified, with industrial safety being the main application market.
Polyester webbing, with its excellent physical properties and designability, has permeated every aspect of modern life, from daily clothing to high-tech aerospace equipment, it can be seen everywhere. With the continuous advancement of production technology and the continuous optimization of performance, the application scope of polyester webbing has been continuously expanding, demonstrating strong market adaptability and vitality.
The heavy-duty polyester webbing produced by MEDEER is widely used in lifting and hoisting, rescue towing, transportation safety and other fields. Its width ranges from 30mm to 300mm, and the color can be customized to meet different market standards.
