Los Angeles, CA – June 13, 2018 – The production house for ‘A MIAMI LOVE STORY’, Florida Film House, will participate in the largest gathering of black film enthusiast in the country at the American Black Film Festival (ABFF) in Miami this week.

“Miami is a mosaic of cultures manifested through art, music, food and also film,” states Connie W. Kinnard, GMCVB Vice President, Multicultural Tourism & Development. ABFF has premiered the works and supported the careers of many of today’s most successful artists, including Ryan Coogler (‘Black Panther’), Will Packer (‘Girls Trip’), and Issa Rae (‘Insecure’).

Creators of ‘A MIAMI LOVE STORY’, Miami’s production house Florida Film House (FFH) are delighted to participate and give back to Miami’s community, specifically its heritage neighborhoods like Historic Overtown, who has greatly supported their team over the years. FHH will begin its ABFF celebration festivities on Thursday, June 14th to provide the props, art direction & manpower for superstars like Jill Tracey and popular radio personality host, John Gibson, for a themed party as FFH’s studio will be redesigned in Overtown. Alongside ABFF and the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau Partner (GMCVB), FFH’s second festivity will take place during the festival’s annual Community Day Event this Father’s Day, Sunday June 17th, as a free and open event including film screenings, Q&A’s, panels, and more. The Community Day Event provides Miami’s community the unique opportunity to interact with up and coming industry talent and for all residents of our community to showcase and celebrate black film and entertainment with a local flair.

For its second year, students from FFH’s 1st Take Youth Film Program who will have a chance to screen their shorts at Community Day. Extremely meaningful and dedicated to the children of their community, FFH designed the educational outreach program to provide Miami’s youth (children ages 12-18) with an introduction to filmmaking, to excite the imagination of young aspiring filmmakers, and to provide them with the tools needed to succeed. The MC for the day is Danni Washington, host of Xploration Nature Knows Best on Fox. Sunday’s event will take place on June 17, 2018, at the historic Lyric Theater, located at 819 NW Second Ave, Miami, FL from 11 A.M. – 5:30 P.M. The event is free and open to the public.

As a week of celebration, TriCoast Entertainment is thrilled to continue its collaboration with FFH to release Blademil Grullon’s ‘A MIAMI LOVE STORY’ – the first-ever film to be released as a national theatrical with the collaboration of Haitians and Dominican. Filmed on the urban streets of Miami, the film exceptionally captures the heavy influence from the Caribbean Sea’s powerful cultural divide between the Haitians and Dominicans.

A “Romeo & Juliet” inspired story, ‘A MIAMI STORY’ showcases Miami’s realistic culture clash of the Haitian and Dominican gang warfare and street violence with the budding romance of young love that breaks two teenagers apart.
