Poet and songwriter Karen J Chisholm is glad to introduce her latest work, ‘Tough as Nails, Poems Inspired by God.’ The book comes as her second project in the writing genre. Unlike in her first book, the poems are strongly worded, with Karen saying, “God is getting serious.” ‘Tough as Nails, Poems Inspired by God’ hit the shelves on 7th January 2015.
“I know these poems will bless you. They have blessed me too. Sometimes, I just stood on the side and wrote what God was saying. I wasn’t even part of it, but I wrote the words and was amazed. I am still amazed today, and God is getting great glory for Himself,” says Karen J Chisholm.
The book has a unique way of bringing to the reader’s notice that God’s ways and thoughts are higher than human ways and thoughts. The poems are a call to follow, to take the next step, and to keep going. They pose an encouragement to the reader that even though they may not know what God is doing, there is hope in His wisdom, and they can trust that He knows what He is doing. The writer shares how she experienced failure, but God graciously cleaned up her mess and set her back on her feet every time. She believes God can do this for everyone.

Karen J Chisholm finds inspiration for her poems and writings from her early morning quiet time with God. She lives in the greater Houston area of Texas and is retired from working in the space program and from being Director of Music Ministries at a local church. Karen has three sons, ten grandchildren, and many others who call her ‘Grandma Karen.’
